Sustainability
Partners in Sustainability
One coffee company cannot accomplish our conservation goals alone. Below are just a few of our partners in promoting ecological sustainability through research and education.
The National Aviary
Located in our home city of Pittsburgh, PA, The National Aviary conducts conservation research programs in the United States and abroad, including Marianas Islands, Ecuador, Dominican Republic, and islands across the Caribbean Basin.
Smithsonian Migratory Bird Center
The Smithsonian Migratory Bird Center is dedicated to understanding, conserving and championing the grand phenomenon of bird migration. Founded in 1991, and located at the Smithsonian’s National Zoo in Washington, D.C., SMBC scientists seek to clarify why migratory bird populations are declining before the situation becomes desperate. Smithsonian Migratory Bird Center programs help raise awareness about migratory birds and the need to protect diverse habitats across the Western Hemisphere.
Pearl Parrot Rescue
The mission of PEARL is to provide quality education to current and potential parrot or bird owners. Unwanted or found parrots are accepted at Parrot Education Adoption Rehoming League, and, in turn, are adopted to qualified applicants. They also assist in home-to-home adoptions for non-parrot pet birds. They are a foster-based rescue, located in the Pittsburgh, PA area.
The Cornell Lab of Ornithology
The Cornell Lab’s mission is “to interpret and conserve the earth’s biological diversity through research, education, and citizen science focused on birds.”
